First crafted in 17th-century China, named for the coast where they passed into Western hands, the Coromandel screen has stood in the most considered rooms for three centuries. Ours is inlaid by hand with mother-of-pearl — a single piece, made the old way.

The World Behind CBP
Cheng Bao Phuong is an Asian woman who spent years living and working in the United States — long enough to read an American home like a sentence, and long enough to know what was missing. An interior designer by training, she returned to the chinoiserie of her own heritage and began collecting the objects she could no longer find. CBP is the studio that came from that search.
